En Irán, Valiollah y Dorna viven los últimos años de una existencia nómada amenazada por la sedentarización y por un mundo que cambia demasiado deprisa. Mientras sus hijos miran hacia la ciudad, ellos intentan mantener un vínculo con el territorio, el rebaño y una forma de vida heredada durante generaciones. El robo de parte de sus animales acentúa una distancia que ya estaba creciendo.
